Past Pilots - The Make It Real Game and The Be Real Game, 2001

Following the successful pilot of The Real Game in 2000, schools and education authorities were keen to pilot The Make It Real Game (for students aged 10 to 12) and The Be Real Game (for students aged 14 to 16). The two programmes were piloted nationally in 2001 and an online evaluation survey tool was used successfully for the first time.  81 schools piloted the Make it Real Game and 113 The Be Real Game.

The evaluation of these programmes involved student, parent and teacher feedback, and focus groups with students and teachers. The pilots identified certain aspects of the programmes which needed to be modified to suit the Australian context. Comments on the benefits of the programmes were again very positive.

The Make It Real Game

The Make It Real Game is one of the most fantastic real-life skills programmes available - it's fun, interactive, hands on and educational.

Teacher

I think The Make It Real Game was fun. I learnt heaps and found great information for my future.

Student

A most excellent introduction to life in the real world.

Parent

The Be Real Game

It was a useful resource that tied in the concepts of learning, skills, careers and life skills that students found both enjoyable and informative.

Teacher

It made me realise the path I need to take to get where I want to in life.

Student

I think The Be Real Game is beneficial for senior students as they are approaching the 'real world'. These tasks provide situations which will meet them in years to come.
